Project Partners met at the Train-the-Trainer Event, Hosted by the University of Maribor

On the Train-the-Trainer event, there were presented many subjects regarding digital accessibility. The event took place from November 18 until the November 22 at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science in Maribor. Our project partners introduced guidelines, lessons and courses which can help understand the digital accessibilty. The participants also learned how to improve the design of a website in order to make it accessible.

On the first day of the Train-The-Trainer Event, the two courses “Introduction to DA” and “Implementation of DA” were presented. At the workshop, participants discussed prepared content and ideas on how to improve lessons and training materials.

On the second day of the Train-The-Trainer Event, the Institute for Advanced Communication Management, responsible for preparing the course Managing Digital Accessibility, presented the lections and training materials for the learners. The project members discussed the prepared content and ideas for future developments.

On the 3rd day of the Train-The-Trainer event project partners discussed the course Evaluation of Digital Accessibility, which was presented by the Centre for Sustainable Development “HORIZONS”.

On the 4th Day of the Train-The-Trainer Event, the course Designing for Digital Accessibility was scheduled. Project partners discussed about designing an accessible website. Nicole Georgogianni from BEST CYBERNETICS presented lessons for the course and discussed possibilities for further development and improvement of learning materials. Participants have also learned several tricks on how to improve the design of a website in order to make it accessible.

On the last day of the Train-The-Trainer event, the University of Maribor presented the Course of Programming/Developing for Digital Accessibility. For this course, 9 lessons were prepared including developing web pages with appropriate structure and navigation markup, accessible multimedia content, web forms, and tables as well as the development of accessible web pages using the modern frameworks like Bootstrap. The course gave the practical view of web accessibility and showed how to develop an accessible website. Attendants were able to do some practical exercises that demonstrated different aspects of programming accessible web applications.
