At the turn of May and June this year, the first pilot training for Digital Accessibility Testers in Poland was organized by Siedlce University and HORIZONS Centre as a part of the “Certified Digital Accessibility Training” Erasmus + project.
The course consisted of two modules: a twenty-hour introduction module and a forty-hour evaluation module which included four topics: 1) Checking digital accessibility of the content, 2) Using digital accessibility testing tools, 3) Accessibility conformance evaluation process, and 3) Preparing the digital accessibility report.
The learners studied the training materials by themselves on the e-learning platform (40 hours) and participated in on-line workshops with the trainers (20 hours).
In total, 19 participants from all over the country signed up for the course. The participants included, among others: IT students, software and applications’ testers, employees of integration centres for people with disabilities, sign language teachers, and marketing specialists.
The course was successfully completed by thirteen participants, who received certificates and obtained qualifications of the Digital Accessibility Tester.
