On Wednesday, the 10th of February, a virtual conference about digital accessibility was organized by our Slovene partners INUK Institute and Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, University of Maribor. Altogether 76 participants attended the conference, which we consider a big success since it proves that awareness about the importance of ensuring digital accessibility is growing.
At the conference, the event organizers presented the intellectual outputs of the Certified Digital Accessibility Training project and led a discussion about the challenges of ensuring digital accessibility in practice. Important guests joined the discussion to share their experience with digital accessibility. Among them was Dr. Matjaž Debevc, who is a professor at the University of Maribor and is also a member of the World Federation of the Deaf Expert Group on Accessibility.
Furthermore, Jasna Močnik, the Undersecretary at Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology, and Maša Malovrh, an internationally certified accessibility expert, who works as a project manager for web accessibility at the Beletrina Publishing Institute, also participated in the discussion and shared their thoughts about the challenges of digital accessibility in Slovenia.
The conference was fruitful and well received by the attendees.
